The exposure to advanced digital tools, opens up a myriad of possibilities to designers in complex freeform design. However, bringing these complex shapes to reality remains a challenge with conventional methods of fabrication.
Superstructure specialises in parametric design to digital fabrication workflows that allow us to provide solutions for complex free form structures. Using digital fabrication methods, we are able to translate a design into a final fabrication -- a file to factory workflow, aiding the realisation of complex forms.
Our research is in discovering the intrinsic values of a material; how it bends, stretches, forms, cuts and joins -- channeling this into an understanding of its unique properties, represented in parameters that form a palette from which designs are born.
A symbiosis of parametrically-driven design and a material’s phenomenology, budding a consolidated language of material systems and geometric forms. The possibilities are boundless, giving the designer a whole new design grammar to bring their most creative ideas to life.
